Does this soil look quite old and can I still repot it?

Hello everyone, I recently got this ficus which I quite like. However, the soil isn't in great condition. Do you think that it is worth repotting into better soil? I do not know how long it has been in this soil. Should I wait until next year to repot?IMG_7091.jpgIMG_7092.jpg

Does the soil still drain well? It does look bad from the photo, but drainage tells the true story. Ficus like to be repotted in summer, so this is a good time to do it. No need to wait.

Thanks, I have still not watered it

It looks pretty wet and heavy even for a ficus that like it wetter. I usually repot my ficus around 4th of July, ie summer

Thanks, so is it fine to repot in summer unlike the usual repotting before spring for ficus?
