Does anyone know what’s causing the foliage on these young bald cypresses to turn grey?

The spot they’re in right now isn’t getting full sun, so I don’t think it could be sunburn, but could be wrong. I grew these from seed in a pond basket last spring. Nutrient deficiency perhaps? Others of similar age in the ground around the yard aren’t experiencing this discoloration, or at least not yet. IMG_9048.jpegIMG_9049.jpeg

A friend of mine called me last week to diagnose a line of damaged plants and grass in his front yard.
He was using a mirror to provide light to his veggies, but the rest of the yard was adjusted to shade and got burned.
Could be a neighboring window, or a piece of metal somewhere that reflects enough light to do a burn.

Sometimes when dosing nutrient solutions, people can hit some foliage. If the solution is concentrated enough, it will burn the foliage too if it's not rinsed off in time.

Look up “bald cypress rust mite”

You’re in prime time for this in your region. This bug causes brown out on BC
