Do your children help care for your bonsai?

On the one hand I’m proud, on the other hand I fear for the trees life.
Welcome to the beautiful stressful life of fatherhood. Pretty much sums it up, even beyond bonsai.

My 23 yo son is still living at home. He's overcome a lot, but even though he's high-functioning, the Asperger's Syndrome has set him back socially in very significant ways. So, as part of his life skills lessons, I'm teaching him how to care for something that can't care for itself. He thinks I'm too hard, but he's still very soft from an employer's viewpoint.
So during my workday, when it's ±100°, it's his duty to check the chopsticks, keep the seed beds damp (although I'm just about ready to give up on those), and mist some of the trees and plants that require more humidity than the desert can provide. It's a learning process, but he's getting there.

My son is interested in orchard trees and has planted several different species on their land. He may end up wanting to take over a tree or two or three, but I'm not pushing it. If the club gets everything, I'm totally fine with that. I've gotten so much out of PSBA.

On the other hand...there's a little granddaughter in the picture, so there's hope from that angle!

She looks so happy! Nice phone btw! We’ve been thinking of reinvesting in a landline.

My nearly 3 year old is certainly still too young to care or get into it profundly. But he loves playing with the hose, giving them a good occasional shower, especially when I don't look, which a lot of children in his age most likely do, or trying to re-arrange them. In winter he was hiding in the growing tent. No accidents so far and I do hope I can inspire him as @LuZiKui wrote for something he has passion for, be it Bonsai, nature in general or any other hobby that gives relief.

On our tours in the surrounding I show him other plants and sometimes he is eager to show me his discoveries of flowers or simple weeds.
But for now it is most likely just a few minutes of "help" before engaging in other activities as playing in the sand-pit or water. 😂
