Are there any actions I should take this year to develop this young BC into a future flat top style BC? I’d obviously like the trunk to thicken much more, and will plant it into the ground next year. I understand we are several years away but is there any wiring that should be done now set it on its way?
Tree is currently about 20” tall. Trunk is the thickness of an expo marker.

Don't worry about your branches on this one until your trunk diameter is where you'd like it. Next spring put it in a larger pot.

Thanks! In terms of wiring, I meant the trunk. Does it make sense to wire any movement into the new trunk line now (above the chop) while it’s still young and bendy?

Flat top BC aren’t really bendy. They’re straight upright for the most part. BC tend to grow upright. You can bend if you want but it’s a little incongruous with flat top styling.
