Deodar Cedar Tree

I was given this tree from a teacher that I know. I believe it is a Cedrus deodara. I have never taken on a tree of this size. The pot is 19 inches and the tree is 35 inches tall. I live in the San Diego area, so it’s still too hot to start anything right now. Even though I have been doing Bonsai for many years, I am kind of intimidated by this. I would love any thoughts from all of you nuts on this.

I thought the same thing. Gotta wait till November to chop the roots. Free trees are the best.
