Dawn redwood forest

I am very new to bonsai’s. I had a juniper a while ago and I did not have time to take care of it like I should and it died. I now have all the time in the world with my new job and I just ordered a dawn redwood forest online that comes in a few days. The trees are about 7 years old and about 12”-16” in hight. Any advice would be much appreciated

I started one this year, probably similar sized trees. I overpotted them, in roughly the orientation I pictured for later - just plan on letting them grow for now. Odd numbers work best, maybe a grouping of 3 and 2, 4 and 3? They grow quickly in the ground, you could add size by letting them grow out while you consider things.

Dawn redwoods might be a little tricky to keep starting out... I was overly ambitious when I started out and have caused a lotta dead trees... I wish you luck but if these do fail on you id recommend bald cypress, similar fern-like foliage but they are much more resilient.

Don't let dawn redwood dry out. Better too wet than a bit dry.
Don't panic when the leaves turn brown then drop off in Autumn - Just in case you are not aware they are deciduous. I've seen so many of these thrown out because they 'died' at the start of winter
