Cotinus coggygria

Got this imported cotinus 6 month ago from nursery stock. However i live in tropical country, juz wonder if they need cold dormancy. Sorry for the poor quality image bcoz using web cam to take this picture.

From what I can find on the Web, this plant is rated to USDA Zone 4--which is almost arctic (minimum winter temps minus 30 to minus 25 F, or minus 34 to minus 31 C)...I'd say it probably needs a cold dormancy. Good luck...
