I think the cork bark are hard to come by. Have you seen that variety at HD?home depot has elephant bush, albeit smaller ones

Green island ficus (I'm sure you have one/would be bored by that)
Or a Mitragyna Speciosa (aka Kratom, and probably horrible for bonsai - but I'm giving one a try)
Or a Night-blooming cereus (houseplant, probably Selenicereus grandiflorus)
