I'm looking for some 4 and 6 gauge copper wire. Suggestions for the best wire and price would be appreciated. A lot of places do not have the 4 gauge

Will you be using a lot of four gauge copper? If the answer is no, maybe don’t bother buying it and simply double up on smaller gauges as needed.
So doubling 6 gauge = what gauge do you think Dave?

Go to Home Depot's or Lowes' electrical department, they have #4 and #6 bare copper ground wire, sold by the foot. Anneal it yourself in the barbeque grill or bonfire. I did this once an it worked out fine.

But, what Dave suggests is solid advice, it is done all the time, plus you get more support for the bend.

I do this all the time anneal my own wire from hardware store . Problem is 6 gage ground wire is NOT a single strand of 6 gage wire it is normally 7 strands of about 12 gage . But 10 foot piece un twisted makes 70 feet of 12 gage . Makes great general purpose wire for but wiring and pot screen holders tie trees into pots purchase other sizes from supplier . Multiple anneal methods . But essentially all the same tool of wire heated the. Allowed to cool . I have found rapid cooling in a pail of water is most efficient and yields best results . You learn very quick how to judge the temp of the wire by colour . Use a hot fire . Bbq or coals of a wood fire . If you don’t get soft wire just re due it .

I have 5mm and 4mm available
4 gauge = 5.189mm
6 gauge = 4.11mm
Great if you can get single strand . Not avail at hardware store here . I believe the culprit will be . The difference in electrical wiring codes . USA to Canada . I have seen this in motor homes . But great if you have easy access to single strand wire in the gages you want 👍👍👍👍👍

4!?
Make sure you have your Wheaties before you start trying to apply that wire. That's very big wire.

Biggest copper I use is 6 and that's bad enough trying to get it on the tree well enough

Copper has medicinal properties . That a lot are not aware of . If you have any kind of joint inflammation especially . Working bending applying wire will have noticeable . Good effects . Buy the time I got that 4 gage wrapped around a tree my tendinitis in my elbows would feel great . 😂😂😂😂. Don’t laugh I am not joking . Most of those metal arm bracelets that claim pain relief have a high amount of copper . I have felt it’s effect

Home Depot does carry 6 gauge copper wire that is a single strand, at least in the lower 48. You might be able to order it on the website for pickup at your local store. Although, if you have to place an order and wait anyway maybe ordering from a bonsai supplier is the better option overall. For one thing, the larger radius of copper wire rolls manufactured for bonsai use makes it easier to use in regards to avoiding unintentionally work hardening the wire as it’s coming off the roll before wrapping the branch.

I've tried a few copperfit products over the last few years because it was supposed to be therapeutic for pain, inflammation.

I think it's a bunch of bull patties, never noticed any significant relief
