New to bonsai here and have been taking advice from some great people. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the following species: (either from the wild or nursery stock)

- Podocarpus
- Dwarf Pomegranate
- Australian Pine
-Wax Myrtle
-Governer's Plum
-Brazilian Pepper

Thanks for any feedback!

Great people ....

CLIMATE CONTROLLED FRIENDSHIPS!

Following advice from a great guy in Canada can turn him into a dick real fast iffin you don't!

Better to take advice from some asshole in South Florida!

Or a kind soul on an island!
Sounds like a bunch of trees @Anthony may know something about!

Cept the first two...and wax myrtle...

Dunno if you meant Australian Pine....
If so....
Anthony has that ausbonsai link...

And we ain't short a SoHem bonsai folk here no more either! @MichaelS @KiwiPlantGuy @Starfox @Craigm ...

All them fellers are gonna have good stuff to follow....

You can Probly grow a few "Ausvasives" down there better than they can!

Just DON'T FIGHT THE FLORIDA, LET THE FLORIDA WORK FOR YOU.

Gotta work fast seeing as how you only got a few more years till you moving north anyway!

Lessin you got some big ass floaties!

You and @flyinmanatee and @The Dude with the jack Russell who's name I forgot...
Oughta start training manatees to do bonsai!

I hear ya loud and clear! :D

Yeah, that makes perfect sense to me...Florida weather is a beast of it's own. One thing I have been observing are in-the-ground landscaping plants that seem to thrive down here. Some, like Ilex vomitoria may be good candidates for Bonsai!

Thanks for the suggestions!

Heading out to wiegarts nursery on September 17th . A few club members and I decided to make a trip from Pinellas county. If your interested let me know, we would be happy to help with advice and finding some new trees.

Hey thanks for the invite! I think that may be a weekend we are visiting my daughter at college but if anything changes I will give you a holler. It looks like they're about 3 hours from me and it looks like an awesome place.

Thanks again,

Scott
