I found a lot of austrian pines that were planted like 20yrs ago and some were stunted from growth. its a public lot so i decided to collect the smaller ones so when I got there, the whole lot was flooded and all the trunks had at least 3 inches of water there were a few already yellowing and other had alot of branches dead I figured this turned into a rescue for some more to collect.
what are the chances of survival since I got them already stressed from standing in water? I was able to get a good amount of roots. I put some trees in a pot with mostly turface, got rid of alot of clay soil and planning to kept those in my greenhouse with a range of 45-55 degrees F until spring comes around. what are the chances? should I keep them outside with the rest? the other outside still have all the clay soil and dug them in the ground.
