I'm lucky enough to have my neighbor's permission to pole saw large branches of overgrown bougainvillea that cross into my yard (it's jumbled up with 3 other trees and is an eyesore, he gave me the green light to prune the other trees back and let the bougainvillea grow, as well as pruning whatever crosses the fence!!)

April 10th, early signs of buds20230410_093121.jpgApril 19th, lots of new leaves

Fast forward to today, May 10th,

Drainage layer of 3/8" pumice, cocopeat and perlite for the rest of the pot, orchid fir bark to top it off and some river stones to keep it steady.
IMG_0730.JPGabout 1 inch diameter with nice texture.

These two chunkers are next. The one on the right is a lot beefier, I'm looking forward to getting it in a training pot in a few weeks.

You are, to have such easy access to bougie material. You Florida people....;)
I have to pace myself tho, it might be possible for it to be sustainable because the bougie cluster is massive! I'm letting another pair of branches get healthy before I chop those too lol!

Progress, tiny leaves from last wednesday already expanding mega fast
fast gro.pngGonna throw 3 teabags of organic ferts on the pot tomorrow
