On 12/01/2025 I colect an old "root stock" from an abandoned orchard, no roots, no buds, only a chunk of wood, and I put it in a plastic bag as "greenhouse"

On 20/03/2025 it had roots growing for the trunk

It only sproud roots, so I decide to graft three Chaenomeles scions on 12/04/2025 looked like this
I had planned to do the gratfs later on, but the lack of bud, make me speed the process in order to have green to support the trunk

On 17/05/2025 seems that only one is took, but it is very healty

I hope to continue the evolution, and of course I pray for the scion will be the right variety, because I purchase the "mother plant" this year, and I havent see any flower yet
I use it in another project click, click

Cheers!

Interesting. Because they are unrelated species I did not think this could be done. Very cool project.
