When you have lemons...Why not make lemonade...I have a large piece of Grey Lava that’s not very attractive...I want to do something with it...So that means I get to "Bust It Up"!! This is the piece of lava...It measures 18" tall by 21" across and 7" deep...Nice crust along the right side and a platform on the left...See it?

This is looking down on it...You can see the platform on the left and there's a nice natural bowl too...

This is the first piece...Now we can see the platform...Has a cool line and it sort of looks like a dog yawning…

This was the piece I wanted to get to...All crusty and Gnarly...Make a few relief cuts, a whole lot of chiseling to shape and bevel the edges...There you go! A cool cascade pot...

The second half of my project and final result after several hours of stone work...I added some small windows in the center of the lava to open it up a little...

Looking down into the natural bowl...I can drill some drainage holes in the bowl that will drain to the back...Then it’s done...There you go, that’s lemonade...

But seriously, I like the character in this rock.

I would love to see this, very nice specimen you have created.

What was the blade you used to cut the rock with, it looked like an angle grinder you used was the blade for it or did you modify something to work on the grinder?
