I was looking for some stones to make various RoR compositions (trident, cork bark elm, arakawa, etc.)

One type of stone that interested me was basalt. I liked the dark color and it looked to be pretty hard from my searches online. Does anyone know if this is hard enough to withstand pressure over long periods of time without cracking? I don’t want it to break apart when the roots start to put pressure on the stone.

I'm not an expert, but basalt is an igneous rock that has similar durability to granite, so I would imagine that it would stand up to RoR just fine.
