Caesalpinia pulcherrima

I believe this is a Caesalpinia pulcherrima. Maybe one of you can verify that. The root structure is pretty unique. Any ideas on where to go with this thing? (Besides the chipper)

I'd try to manhandle those roots around that rock.

Thicken the trunk, select the roots for design and I don't think that is Pride of Barbados .

What you may have is more similar to this -
But we have never had this tree successfully identified.
