Hi Everyone,

I just aquired this Brazilian Tree.
It was in an 8 inch pot. The Tree was buried very deep and it was quite root bound with poor soil.

I know its not the right time to repot in my part of the woods zone 5b. I had no choice but do my best and save the Trunk from sustaining further damage. I have most of the trunk above the Nebari drying at the moment.

The roots are healthy, i replaced the soil and I also cut down the size of the pot for the repot to fit in perfectly.

I am attaching some pictures to ask for your advice and aftercare on how to go about the Trees Trunk at this moment. Is there anything else I could asides waiting for drying to take effect? Can I also cover some of the exposed surface roots with some Spaghnum moss without touching the trunk?

Thank you for your time.

For zone 5b, it's about time to bring it inside and put it under lights, if you haven't already done so. I just brought all my tropicals indoors this weekend. It wouldn't hurt to put some moist sphagnum moss on the exposed surface roots. The most important thing at this point is just to not do anything else to it besides watering and perhaps misting the foliage. Let it recover.

What do you mean, "I had no choice but do my best and save the Trunk from sustaining further damage."?
