I'm considering planting my raintree on a slab this summer. Any suggestions on the type of muck to use? Also, I'm unsure which view would be the best for the front. Your comments would be greatly appeciated.

Nicely formed BRT. I like both sides, how is the base? Better on either side? Do you worry about it getting too dry on your slab? Mine likes being moist.

I know you can do whatever you want with your own tree, but is a slab an appropriate environment for a Brazilian Rain Tree. I have a difficult time picturing one growing in a rocky environment.

I believe Eric Wigert have an awesome flat top BRT on a slab. BRT itself may not grow in a rock slab in its natural setting but I thought trees can be made to mimic other trees when it comes to bonsai (or am I mistaken?).

Edit, found the pic.

They can...
This is why folks style junipers as pines.
Boxwoods as oak trees...

Eric is my inspiration for a slab planting. I bought this BRT from him in June '13. I've seen his
flat top raintree many times (pictures don't do it justice). His nursery is only 25 miles from my house so we have similar climates. He grows his in full sun and waters only once a day. I think it looks awesome so I thought I'd give a try. Side note: If you're ever in Southwest Florida you need to visit his place. Erik and Andrea are wonderful people and they have great trees at great prices. Thank you very much for your comment. I'm new at this "forum thing" but so far it's been fun and informative. Have a great day.
