I'll be in the Bay Area next month for a few days and was wondering if there's any bonsai nurseries/ garden that I should check out. Thanks in advance!

It’s not so bad to get to Oakland on the BART from San Jose, but it’ll take a while.

Thanks! I'll have a car while there....Also I used to live in the Bay Area when I was a teen...wasn't into bonsai yet though.

I used to go down to Japantown in S.F. when I was out that way on business. Interesting just to look around, but came across some decent bonsai stuff occasionally. Soko Hardware for instance carried decent Tokoname bonsai pots and bonsai tools, Kinokuniya Book Store had Japanese bonsai books as well. There is a "mallsai-ish" bonsai store there too, Katsura Gardens. Not really worth a special trip, but if you're in downtown S.F. worth stopping in.
