Bonsai shows are up and running again in Australia after a few years of COVID restrictions.
Bonsai North West is one of the larger clubs in Melbourne and had their annual show last weekend.
The display benches featured some older and well maintained pines and cedars.

Looks like it was a great show, thanks for sharing.

David is club president. Very active on socials and also manages a very dynamic club and excellent show. Maybe I should not say but the group of small shimpaku belong to him.

This is a Gum tree Eucalyptus sp right? pretty cool to see austalian natives so well developed
Correct @Arnold I checked the name tag and it's E. meliodora which we know here as Yellow box. Aussie natives have been difficult as bonsai but gradually we are learning the secrets to managing an maintaining them as bonsai. Look forward to more great Aussie native bonsai.

Several other really well developed Aussie natives on the benches - the Melaleuca is a native, and the other 4 in that post also natives- Leptospermum (shohin), Ficus rubiginosa (several others on the benches) and Allocasuarina.

Here's a couple more Aussie natives. Both quite big bonsai but superbly styled:
Kunzea sp (I think?)

Melaleuca stypheloides - aka prickly paperbark

I following his Youtube channel and I know he is the president of the club because he mentioned it in his videos a few times and he always promotes the exhibitions in his videos.

I already thought that the shimpaku's were his because I reconnise them from his videos.

Question: Did you participated with trees in the show yourself?

That's a pretty impressive sales area too!

I'm not actually a member of the club but they ask me to bring down stock to fortify the sales tables. The club gets a larger sales area with quality stock to attract buyers and 10% commission. I benefit from a larger buyer base who can see and feel the trees and I can sell some trees that are too large to send through the post. Win - Win.

I have occasionally exhibited trees on the show benches but feel bad about taking space from their genuine members so have not exhibited there for a few years now. None of my own trees shown this year but I did recognize a few of the ones shown as trees I started and sold.
Melbourne is a 600km round trip for us to attend so we don't do it every day.
