I just read an article in spanish that claims its better to use water thats hot or quite warm on plants and trees. The article said it promotes better growth. But here the locals say not to water during the heat of the day because it hurts the roots if the water is hot/warm. So I thought Id ask/tell and see what english speaking folks think. The article was not about bonsai, and maybe the pot effects the results. What do y'all think?

I have no evidence to point to only the basic fact that colder water holds more Oxygen. Now that said, you have to be concerned with shocking the plant with dramatically different temps. So I would say water that's close to the temp the plant is already at is likely the best.

Thats what I was thinking. It did mention boiling water for killing weeds. And the article didnt give temps. Maybe warm water opens up pores. They claimed the plants can absorb warm water and nutrients better with warm water. I kinda thought it was worth bringing up so we could learn from it, or laugh at it.

Some days if the hose has been sitting in the sun, the water that first comes out will be too hot to take a shower in. And with my plants often sitting in 100+ heat, I couldn't imagine using hot water. I always let any hot run out of the hose and then spray the entire plant down to cool them.
