My local Walmart has salsa bowls on clearance for 10-cents each. Inside measurements are 4"x2". Add another half inch for the outside measurements. The feet on these bowls elevate the bowls enfor good drainage.

I'll be putting portulacara afras I these.

My recommendation is to NEVER use regular drill bits to cut holes in plastic. Use a "step bit". Standard drill bits will catch on the plastic and crack the plastic.

Cool! I used some similar pots I got at the Dollar Store. I went around the yard and dug up some live oak seedlings and potted them up to put on the sale table at one of our shows. They make some nifty mame pots.

What a great idea! Too bad they don't have some really big-ass party sized bowls, around a foot in diameter by 6 inches deep. Like you would need when la familia comes over for Cinco de Mayo! Drill a few holes and you've got a perfect training pot. BTW, great suggestion on using the stepped bit instead of a spiraled bit. Much more control, unless you press too hard and end up with a bigger hole than you planned on! Easier to do that with plastic than metal, and I have done it with both.

The truck to using regular drill bits is to do it in reverse this prevents the grabbing/ripping when it punches thru!
