Just got a Blue Jacaranda and it's kind of tall. It's got some nice foliage on it. I know heavy prune is done in spring? My main question is, how low can I cut it down\prune?
Thanks, Hawk

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I watched a video and the guy took 12 footer down to 12 inch! LoL so I get it I'll let it go for a year and then start. Learning a lot from these groups and videos. Have 2 junipers 3 Bald Cypress, and an Italian Stone Pine. Also starting a frangypangy\plumeria blood red! I've always loved Bonsai and now that I don't work it seems I have the time. It teaches patients! LoL I'm an Aquarius so I tend to over water, so now that I'm using the proper growing media it's much better. Still have to fight the urge. LoL got Cypress trees to help with watering.

A couple of years ago I chopped a 10+ footer to about 4 inches, put it in a large box with soil from old plant pots, and I still have it today. Growing in full sun in 9A, watering once a day. Its an awesome AND awkward thing😄

I will get a picture up to show soon, it's night right now.

I love the bark on the lower trunk. Hoping the large wound from the large chop of the main trunk closes up without bulging too much. I carved it out pretty deep about 6 months ago, but the chop and dig-up was a couple years ago.
