IMG_5280.JPG IMG_5279.JPG have a huge crape myrtle that I want to start a long project on that has a really nice trunk. What is the best time of year to dig these up? Wil lit survive if I collect it now?

Late next winter or early spring as buds swell would be best.
Well that sucks. I heard some people do it late spring early summer with success. I know they're very hearty trees and can take a beating.

I've done major root work on smaller nursery stock in the middle of summer without an issue. But I haven't tried anything that size. Probably best to wait as Dave says.
