Best Maples for zone 9b?

I live in south Louisiana (zone 9b). I mostly just look into trees I could find in the wild here for sake of survivability/fortitude etc. but I really love a good maple. I know sugar maples grow here naturally, but are there any other maple cultivars that would fare well here? From most of what I’ve researched our summers are too hot and we don’t have a long enough dormancy period in winter but I’d love some input if anyone else has had some success.

Tridents are your best bet as far as maple bonsai subjects in hot climates. Locally sourced Red maple, Acer rubrum, would be worth a look, too.
