Beginner-looking for advice

Doesn't this work?
It works about as well as it can. It is only my opinion and I know many (most?) don't agree. I feel the same about jade plants and others. I have no problem with others labeling plants as they wish and mean no disrespect. I have a lot of botanical oddities that I will never call bonsai. Love them all the same.

A picture would be nice, Pickle. Alas, I'm a heretic degenerate and I don't allow rocks in my pots unless they are decorative. I use a formula that is basically improved dirt. It works for me and my watering habits, but I'm sadly out of touch and behind the times. I wouldn't repot right now, I like to repot when plants are in the full-tilt boogie growing season. I would wire that sucker down right now tight enough to prevent rocking which breaks tiny roots. Don't worry about how it looks, for now just use a long, skinny screwdriver to find paths to the holes in the bottom of your pot to stick wire through so that you can bind the tree in place. next time you repot you can do a more proper job where you hide the wire as best you can as part of the repotting process.

Tree loose in pot may indicate a poor root structure. I agree with wiring the tree in or stabalizing it some way.

If you have a good indoor growing area, you could repot since it is a tropical, but it doesnt sound like your tree is healthy enough.

Having stock in Apple...Seed.

It's not the real thing.

But we allow them to sell it to us.

Except, once you have a gazillion trees, you might be temped to have something a little bit different from the pack. Or, for me, my houseplants are not really bonsai, My windows don't have good enough light for all sides so they have to be just kinda bonsai-ish but not Valvanis grade trees. Here's a windowsill forest I've had in my south facing bathroom window for more than 15 years. (Variegated Ficus 'Too Little')273081

once you have a gazillion trees,

I'm with you there.

But for a newb,( hey @Harry Bushwhacker, here's them Adenium....)

It's kinda unfair to be sold something, or sold "on" something, that doesn't offer any of what the real thing offers, and brings more frustration than anything else.

It's like wanting a real car.
And getting a model car.

Trying to drive it to work is going to cause problems. Yellow leaves, etc.

Elms, Junipers (Procumbins nana not included😤😜💩), these are not just "easy" trees, they actually provide a medium to make a tiny "tree" from.

Less frustration. More ass kicking.

For Christ sake.....

The thought of needing a 3 thousand dollar pot when finished....is enough to keep anyone from wanting to finish one!

That's big enough to intern the owner. And probably still cheaper than a casket, plot and funeral. And your family can still have you around the house. ..."Ya think Harry's up in heaven listing to us? Nope, He's a little deeper than that there pot."
