I have had beech for a quite a long time. And I repotted it this year. it leafed out well and has looked good until recently some leaves have begun to discolor and shrivel. Wondering if anybody might recognize the symptoms. ThanksFA6CEC93-2944-4304-9E0F-30C88CDD1C0B.jpeg

It actually got is ass handed to it over the last few years of being root bound and ignored. Ergo the repot this spring. I figured it would not bud out well but it did bud well enough to give it a fighting chance this year. Was hoping next year it could begin to recuperate. But with so few buds I can’t afford much loss of leaves to disease. That’s why I was hoping to address these new symptoms as quickly as possible.

I see the same on the beeches used in hedge rows in our country. We're having the driest spring ever recorded.
Are you keeping it in the full sun?

Beeches are undergrowth trees. In the natural succession of forests, they only show up if there's enough shade. I think it's a sunburn too.
