Banyan Tree Propagation From Cuttings

Hello everyone. Happy holidays!
This morning I found a broken branch of a banyan tree. I brought it home to experiment with propagation from cuttings. I removed most of the leaves, cut a portion of the bark, dipped them in root hormone, and placed them in soil. It is 45 F outside here in Glendale Arizona. What else show I do to increase my chances of success? Should I place them in a heating mat? Bring them inside? Please let me know? Thank you!

Ficus are easy to propagate, this is benjamina cutting. Rooting hormone and grow light, this are roots in 1 week or so. Bring yours inside and cover with something ( like green house) and loats of light

Ficus are sub tropical so they won't do well in cool temps. They do grow well indoors though so will probably do far better in a warm room in AZ at this time of year. A plastic bag makes a cheap and easy humidity tent for cuttings so they don't dehydrate before the roots grow. Some sticks or wire arches in the pot will keep the bag off the cuttings. Larger plastic storage tubs are another way to keep cuttings but I usually put the pot on a brick so they don't sit in water all the time.
Good light is essential and many growers use LED grow lights to maintain better light levels indoors.
