I've got a half dozen bald cypress trees that I repotted and trunk chopped this spring. Five of them are doing great, but one has considerably less vigor than the others. The tree that's lagging behind has weaker growth, plus the terminal bud tips are coming out yellow. It also had the latest bud break out of these trees.
I know my trees have spider mites. Yesterday I sprayed them with Avid for the second time, and I'll spray again in a week. I don't think mites are the cause, as I've got 10+ BC total that a similar level of strong growth even with the mites. I keep them all in shallow water trays, FYI.
Here I'm including a picture of the tree's yellow buds and one of its neighboring trees that's doing better.
Any guesses as to what might be causing the weak growth and how I can correct it? Thanks!
