Aphids

Fukien tea got some aphids (suprise i know), leaves looked fine but they were chowing on the new growth, i used a chemical pesticide and id did nothing apparent, the aphids were still getting worse. I then used some dish detergent mixed with water and a toothbrush like i saw on youtube, and it seems to have worked for the aphids but some leaves started to turn pure black immediately after. Is it a fungus because the soap removed some sort of natural protectant on the leaves? I removed most of the black leaves but some still have spots. Should i remove them all or just keep an eye on it? Suggestions please. Much appreciated.

It is most likely sooty mold that grows on waste left behind by the aphids. If the aphids are gone it should improve on its own.

Spray with Neem oil and keep out of the sun afterwards.

My FT has done every bad thing I can imagine but I refuse to baby it and it keeps kicking. I do keep it out of direct sun and am careful not to overwater it when it's stressing.
