Can anyone tell me how to get ahold of the owner/s... administrator/s of The Art of Bonsai Project?

I have a couple of quick questions. I promise not to harass anyone...lol. Please PM me if you have specific info.

If you haven't ever been to the site there are quite a few great articles there... some of my favorite's are the artist profiles and galleries. -- http://artofbonsai.org/index.php

Very sad that it's not going any more... :(

Thanks Clyde, I sent them a message. We'll see if they can help. :)

It is great that someone kept AOB website alive...there is a treasure trove of great information there (some articles I already copied and saved just in case). I love the interviews and insight of the (current) bonsai world "shakers and movers."

Sadly ofbonsai.org never came close IMHO. Probably because some of the great supporters of AOB felt hurt/betrayed by what happened. Once bitten twice shy????

Sadly; everyone became so intent on destroying the one individual that was more responsible for the success and content of AoB than the others involved that the philosophy of personal destruction reaped its own harvest. So--- when that deed was done AoB was finished as well. Arguably AoB put out some of the best material ever seen on the Net to the point that its content still stands there like the Pyramids on the Nile. So----the next time you find someone whom you do not like, or someone you may be jealous of remember that every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

huh? what happened?

It is a long story and I apologize but I do not want to re-hash it...maybe I cannot even if I tried. There are countless threads about it in various bonsai forums IIRC. Most had to be locked because of highly emotional posts. There should be several here too. Believe me, we do not want it relived now.

I agree 100%.

Before anyone else chimes in, I will ask that we please keep this subject off the site. It is not that the subject is taboo, per se, but rather that I don't want to get into a subjective tug-of-war over what happened and who was to blame. If you wish to discuss, please do so via private messages. Thanks.

Thanks guys, I was able to get the information I needed. :)

I'm very saddened when crap like this goes down. - I don't know who is at fault or anything of the like.-- I'm sure all parties are at fault to some degree, which is allways the case in these types of things. I believe it's been long enough to hopefully leave it in the past and allow old wounds to heal though.

Forgiveness is not allways (or ever) easy, but it's far better than destroying someone elses character and often your own at the same time.

Sorry BNut, I'll go ahead and delete the post if I can figure it out.

Take it down. This will lead no where good.

I am with Vance and believe we should let it stay up.

BNut already posted a guideline...I hope we can stay within that and let this be a reminder and used as learning opportunity.

Lol...I havn't figured it out anyway. - (BUT, if any of this gets out of hand or sparks the old fire I will either delete it or request tha BNut does.) I really don't want to be the one to get an old feud re-kindled. So...let's play nice.. :)

the way the 'WayBack' machine works is you go to http://archive.org/ and enter what you are looking for. In this case a web address which is in the middle box.

This group has used webcrawlers to archive most of the internet. So in this instance, they have 177 captures of AoB. You can go to any of those dates and look at the page as it was then. Pure awesome.
