Anyone’s Crepe Myrtle still sleeping ?

Mine is not showing any signs of leaving out yet but still green underneath the bark. I know Crape Myrtle usually the last to wake up but it’s almost mid July . I have an old Princess Persimmon that is just now leaving out. Just curious if anyone has a Crape that is still sleeping that’s all.

Out here, they have been leafed out for months and are now flowering.

You’ve got an issue. With the extreme heat here in the DMV your crape should be out and have extension growth. The buds alon your don’t look good. Break one open to see if there is any living green tissue in them. If not I would pull the plant out of the pot check the roots.

Yes .. I’ve had so many problem with trees leaving out late this year or die , first it was the big ginkgo that just leafed out a month ago, and some of my Princess Persimmom just started to break now. I think last winter’s extreme cold is the cause.

I had some trees that were not leafing out in June and I watered them with a cal-mag fertilizer and they popped open right away.
