Any potential for this almond

Wondering if there's potential for this almond if not ill just plant in the garden....
Nasty scar lower trunk , not sure if this is a graft.
Should I injur it to promote healing and can it heal over such a big scar ?
Can also cut the bulge out and have it at back of tree if it doesn't heal well....
Or is it best to airlayer above the scar.
Can I chop at arrow height without any foliage there ? Would it regrow without foliage ?

The low cut is 99% certain a grafting spot, where the original plant was cut off, and the scion inserted.

Almond should be able to grow on their own roots. I am not sure how they behave so no recommendation on layering & future development.

Genuine graft on a nice landscape specimen for you. Nice shopping opportunity for you to go look for something with a good first couple inches. Stop looking at canopies when shopping.
