Seedling
Just posting to keep track of all my trees. Started with the small juniper back in May 2021. Then I spent way too much on different trees. I feel like I have a decent variety of trees, but would love to hear your thoughts.
The newest additions are the Chinese elms, not sure if I want to keep them small or get them nice and fat.
Lace bark elms were picked up recently as well, bareroot planted in soil and is already showing buds after one week. Hopefully the clumps take.
The trident maples already have new shoots 6" long. The clump will be monitored closely, but so far all but one of the seedlings have fused together.
Not sure why but the brazilian rain tree is sulking this year. It was repotted last winter and rebounded fine.
All the P. Afras will be left alone this year to thicken up the trunks, except for the cork bark one. That will get a larger pot. There's over a dozen more P. Afras but those are all still untouched since they were planted as cuttings.
Boxwood will be left alone, I'm not sure how to proceed for now.
Juniper was repotted in the winter, will be left to get fat.
The sticks in pots are a ginkgo, holly oak, trident maple, bald cypress, and a red maple.
Fertilizing regimen is pretty simple. Osmocote slow release fertilizer once every month. High nitrogen liquid fertilizer once a week after buds break.
Feedback is always welcome!
