This KH has been slowly loosing leaves on two of the bottom right branches, and I am not sure why. Each day for the past week I have been finding green leaves scattered on my bench and on the colander it’s growing in. The leaves are not turning fall color, and the tree looks green and healthy. Is this animal damage?

I have been known to sleepwalk sometimes, so maybe I am doing some midnight pruning 🤪

Look REAL close early in the morning for a tiny brown worm. I had exactly the same symptoms on an Elm. I found the culprit after almost all the leaves were cut.

That first branch in your set of pictures looks just like a couple branches on my cedar elm tree too. Squirrels... grrr. I moved the tree to a spot a little more difficult for them to get to and it stopped.

I definitely have plenty of squirrels that are on the prowl right now! I will also look out for the world also.

Thanks guys!

I never seen a squirrel do more than bite a trunk.
They certainly have no business removing leaves.

Besides they would use their teeth and there are no marks.

I'd look for that worm.

But sleepwalking sounds even better.
