Hey Danny, this is an itoigawa, cutting-grown and was at Bjorn’s for a while before one of the Bham students bought it. It was displayed at the 2016 US National Bonsai Expo, and was on the cover of International Bonsai in 2017. Nice tree, apex needs a little refinement, but at +/-48” tall it has quite a presence. Thanks for sharing Bri. I can’t quite read the info tag. Can you tell me more on this tree? Shimpaku?
That little porcelain berry is special. We had 80+ trees on display, and everything was crowded so the smaller ones got a little squeezed out. This one deserved more space. Everything down to the accent pot was right on.I love that hawthorne over the slab and the porcelainberry.
All the trees look phenomenal!
Thanks, yes, the hawthorn (last photo in post 1) and Stewartia (last photo in post 2).Thanks for sharing. Your Shohin display turned out well. Did you have other trees in the show?
I should have recognized them, beautiful trees. Thanks, yes, the hawthorn (last photo in post 1) and Stewartia (last photo in post 2).
I noticed them right away.... That Hawthorn is one of the finest in the world lol.I should have recognized them, beautiful trees.
Very good show. Lot of larger trees this year. Best In Show pine is superb and deserves to be selected as Best. Having said this, it was impossible to find short comings with any of the trees. We had a great show this weekend. Here are some pix of the event.
