Hello, I have an old multi-trunk Azalea that I transplanted into the garden last year. It's adjusted well and now I was thinking of air layering one of the trunks. The trunks are about 2 1/2 - 3 inches caliper. Does anyone here have experience air layering an Azalea of this size? Do I just follow the standard procedure e.g. remove ring of bark + sphagnum moss.

Regards,
Ed

I did just that on a 20+ year old Azalea last year -- had problems.
THEN I ran across a site somewhere that said use the bridge technique for azaleas.
I'll look for that URL and re-post.
I want to try again!
