Have had for a few years... Starting to take shape so I figured time to start a thread. Should get a nicer pot next year. Another I plan on keeping smallish.

Today was end of year. Base is just over 1/2". Wired some apical movement and lower branch movement.

Removed wire... The apex I wired in fall didnt seem to make it. I dont think Im going to wire these deciduous in fall anymore and leave over winter. Probably only sept - nov type of time frame. Fertilized and rewired a new leader in roughly same shape.

Maybe a Spring wiring of fresh growth, for the the leader? Thick wire and watch it close through the spring until it sets?

I’ve notice my fall wired red maple branches did not survive. I think maybe late winter early spring might be a better time frame. Care must be taken at that time as branches aren’t as pliable. I snapped a few this year.
