Finally collected and got all my parts in.
Replacing All of my existing archaic sprinkler nozzles in my planter areas, both front and back yards (about 50 total).
I am also extending/raising all of the risers, at least 4-6” higher than container height, so they can spray into all my nursery pots. I know it’s not super efficient and doesn’t replace hand-watering with a wand; but it’s good for a little moisture and obviously better than the water not going into the pots at all.
Most of my existing nozzles are 25-30yo already, so fresh ones will be nice. Using dual-orifice Rain Bird U-series (for its' secondary close-distance spray orifice; so it doesn’t just shoot over the pots lol).
Extending/raising 30 sprinklers total in the backyard. Not many to extend in the front-yard (no more than 10 or so), since all of my developing nursery-pot trees are in the back.
The front yard sprinklers (except for the lawn) were All replaced with drip-converter heads and 1/4” lines last year for a yard renovation and landscape rocks. But, I find the drip-system sh*tty, prone to clog and leak, a PIA to tune and trouble shoot (takes way too much time), the small lines get brittle, stiff and crack, the tips/nipples on the drip converter head bodies easily break off, and you really need to run these drip-systems for hours instead of minutes (drip systems are rated/measured at GPH, while regular sprinklers are rated at GPM), which I don’t feel comfortable with.
Anyways... would love to see your above-the-container/pot sprinkler systems.
I remember seeing a few on here. That’s where I got the idea to do all this. I think I’ve bought around $400 (maybe more or less) in parts already, haha.
