Have had this one for about a year and a half and it desperately needs a repot this year. It’s totally root bound, pushing out of the pot.
I was thinking of changing the planting angle by angling to the left as in the pic shown. Seems to add a lot dynamic and character to the composition, plus is shows off that small cascading trunk which I love. Only issue I see planting like this is finding a suitable pot. Might go with a natural stone slab with this or crescent pot.

I think your inclination is correct--that is just screaming for a rustic slab, to accentuate the beautiful movement you have in some of those trunks.

I would not tilt it either. Or not nearly as much as you have in your proposal.

I think instead, you need to change your "front". And change the pot. A rectangle or oval, that allows you to seat the group with less mounding would look better.

This is the front I would choose.

The current pot makes the whole planting look unstable. Too much visual weight is off center, making the pot look like it is ready to tip over.

A shallow rectangle, or oval would be good. You want to reduce the amount of mounding.

I agree. This was the pot that came with the tree and never thought it was a great fit. it is pretty root bound right now too. I still really like that lean to the left, but maybe I’ll dial it back a little. Gotta spend a little time with it. Thanks.

I do like that front but my favorite cascading trunk is all the way in the back... I’ll try and mess with it.

I love the cascading orientation for the cascader alone, but that's not enought of a reason to turn it. The 2 right above it are too bare and straight. They negate the good of the Cascader.

If something can make it work, I think it may be better than straight upright.

But I'm not seeing it.

Exactly what I was thinking for a pot. I've been wanting to remove those trees ones on the right side too, as they don't really fit... I left them on b/c I wasn't sure of the p[lanting angle yet. Thanks for the photoshop, It helps a lot!! Really love the way it looks..

you're welcome. If you prefer, you could also keep all the trunks, and get a more balanced/peacefull composition, with a wider stone (the most difficult is probably to find a good craftman to make it ^^)

I think I can cut the bigger one and bend over the thinner trunk too as an option. As per the pot, yes finding one that perfectly fits might be an issue. I’m on the hunt now.
Anyone ever make their own crescent primitive pot?

IMO the best is to visit a big Bonsai expo in your country, find here a pot craftman who also make artifical stones, and see with him what is the best to do for your projet. A tailor-made stone is the best. (good shape, size, texture, color)

Thanks! Next big one is in sept in the USA. Will have to get something temporary though as it’s root bound and needs a repot this spring. Maybe I’ll try making a stone myself or something of the like.

Yeah....prob not going to make my own pot lol. Not sure what I was thinking.
I Was looking at some more formal, deeper cascade pots and came across this rendering. I really like it! I know it’s not as slanted as mine but it does have those low cascading trees and a mounded profile. Thinking a pot like that might work...

Why not. If you remove the 2 trees on the right of your multitrunk, you'll probably have an empty space on the right side of the tree. That why with the stone, you have a kind of wall on the right to fill in the empty space. But you can plant a little tree/plant on the right to correct it, imo
