I noticed that the new neighbors of a family member were re-landscaping their recently purchased home. For as long as I can remember, there has been a bottlebrush at the entrance to the driveway, usually under a large sphere of foliage and flowers as seen in this google street view from a few years ago:

I'm thinking half wine barrel in lieu of bonsai pot, if I can get the roots small enough.

A hatchet is a lot easier to keep sharp.
If you can find a plastic 55 gallon drum you can cut the bottom off the height you need and all is well.

And a lot more satisfying flailing it around.
I use a saw made by Fanno saw works. It still zips through roots even after 3 years of use.

A half of a wine barrel could work.
I have a couple of 7 gallon and one 10 gallon nursery buckets for a few biggies I'm thinking of collecting.
Or maybe a plastic trash can cut down and drilled.

Put some wheels on that winebarrel in case you need to move it afterwards.
That thing is huge, i would keep both trunks but chop the smaller one a bit shorter.
