A walk around the back yard

Some vary nice trees. I really like the forest at 1:03. Nice set up with the beaches.

I took another video the other day. It's interesting to look back at last years video and compare. Some trees have moved on and others look a little different. I had one very disappointing winter casualty of one of my best trees. First tree I've lost over the winter in about 4 or 5 years. Anyway, here's this year's video.

Boring.
Everything is green. ;) 😁🤣

nice!

You missed the ghost at 1:54!

You should totally hide a yeti in next year's video! Get them hits! "Smash that like button!" Lol!

For real.....I was thinking about this collection the other day, when thinking about folks who've gone from newb to banging.

Cheers!

Hey folks. Haven't been around much on the forum lately but it's been a pretty busy spring with repotting, moving trees in and out to avoid freezes, etc. Everything is off to a pretty good start this year so I decided to take some quick pics while out watering. I'll probably do another video later in the year.

Beautiful trees and garden setup! Love that forest planting.

Sort of a rookie question but out of curiosity do you keep certain species together or away from each other? I can understand positioning based on sun exposure and aesthetic reasons, but curious if you might keep 2 trees apart for horticultural reasons, like potential for disease/fungus transmission.

Thanks. I get very few fungal issues since I started using the Bonide systemic granules a few years ago. I give all the trees a scoop of that stuff a couple times a year and it pretty much keeps fungus at bay. The only exception is a little chinese elm that gets black spot every year shortly after it leafs out. I end up spraying it with copper several times, defoliating it, and then it doesn't come back. Haven't been able to figure out how to stop it on that particular tree but it doesn't seem to effect anything else, even if the tree stays in close proximity to other ones.

My setup is pretty much based on sun exposure. The maples and the dogwood stay on the right and are shaded by a landscape maple in the afternoon. The trident can handle more sun but it thrives in this spot too. Everything else stays on the left and pretty much gets full sun. The trees closer to the shed get a little less in the afternoon.
