I am working on doing better documentation, and do use my threads to help with that. I never made one for this clump so starting that now. First photo from 2019 when I got it. Was sold to me as an amur, but it's snake bark maple, such cool striped bark, and great fall color. Some years are better than others. Wound up going back to an old pot combo this year. Looking between the last years and this old/new pot, I may go back to the other next year.
It flipped to green leaves from spring color so fast this year!

Nice little clump :-). I’m not sure which pot you prefer but that shallow blue oval is killer in my opinion.
I'm not sure either, but both are about the same size, so they're pretty interchangeable. I like the muted one for summer and the bold one for fall...

Beautiful!

I have a younger one. Can you offer any advice specific to this species?

Mine has very long internodes and no ramification so far.

Just keep at it. I usually pinch mine early and sometimes cut the buds in half before they open, this also makes leaf size smaller. I cut back frequently in winter for shape. They will ramify if you chase it back, and I’m getting better leaf size. Don’t give it too much room in your pot unless growing trunk. Hope this helps! Let’s see yours please….

Thank you! Mine currently hasn't pushed leaves yet, but it's very close.

I had to search for pics from last year. This was the only one I could find that shows the "trunk". I'm obviously still in the growing the trunk phase.

I see your kintsugi'd oval gets around! I like this clump and sure it's in good hands. I almost bought one similar to this about that same time. I wonder where you got it from. (I don't think this is that one, but I was told there was a batch of them of similar vintage.)

I got this clump from Kathy Knittle thru auctions, or it may have been David Knittle, for under 100 I think, things were more reasonable back then.

You might try ground growing this one for a year or so, and worry about internodes later on.
