Nothing crazy, but this is the first plant I bought with the purpose of turning it into a bonsai.

1st picture I got it about 10 months ago off of amazon for i think 20-25$.

2nd picture was a couple months later I had decided to try and make it into a cascade.

3rd picture is current.

I know it's nothing crazy, but i'm happy i've even kept it alive so far haha.

Would love any tips/advice on how to keep it going further. I'm hoping i'm corect in that it still has plenty of room in that pot for now and won't have to repot or trim the roots until next year atleast.

Also appreciate all the tips this site and you guys gave me last year when i was here asking questions. 😁

No experience with Fukien tea, but I'm bumping because you got slid to the second page already.
Went looking for your original thread on this one, and saw that you got no replies. Didn't want it to happen to you again.😉

Also not experienced enough with Fukien to give any real advice. Sorry.

I do know that it’s looks real healthy, and whenever I’ve attempted to repot these, they die.
So good job keeping it happy, as these have been a difficult species for me.

May I ask you how much watering and sunlight you give yours?

I repotted it once a few weeks after first getting it, but didn't trim any of the roots cause i read they're pretty sensitive to root trimming.

It's my balcony (3rd story apt) facing West, and i've kept it out there 24/7 except during the 2-3 months of winter we have down here. so it gets a good bit of sun.
Water it almost every day though.

edit: I have been pretty inconsistent with fertilizing though if i'm honest, been some long stretches without getting much lol.

obviously different tree, but another fukien i picked up yesterday. Hopefully i can keep this one alive too!
(sorry if in the wrong area, figured i had this post about fukien's already going)

Also monster can was the only thing i had for a size referencel lol.

Edit: Also, What size pot would y'all use to repot this once it gets acclimated? the one it's in at the moment is about 10". I know fukien's are pretty sensitive to root pruning. would a 12" pot be enough for it y'all think? Being that it'd be wider, but shallower.
