Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting a club members home. During my visit, I noticed several trees off in the shade. Doris, the nice lady from my club explained to me that these trees where dwarf crepe myrtles. She wasn't sure of they type of myrtle, but was positive they were dwarfs. She then insisted I take them all out of her garden. WHY? Well it seems they have powdery mildew. I was more than happy to oblige. I hope I am correct, solving powdery mildew problems is easy. Simply put them in the sun. I brought them home, clipped off all affected branches and sprayed with neem oil. These trees are kept away from my other trees because I am not sure if it can spread.

My questions are;
Did I treat them correctly?
Can mildew affect the branches?
And will these trees be worth my time?

I find the roots and trunk structures to be interesting and fit the description of what a bonsai should be.
Thanks for any input that you all may have.

The tree needs medicine i think, and also i thought it spreads pretty good (wind and spores and mess).

In my experience it won't spread unless under high humidity, never the less I would keep them away from others just in case. Neem should be good, if it doesn't work I would try copper fungicide.

image.jpeg I've used the copper fungicide successfully. I've had it spread with moist conditions...I think watering could be my high humidity thing. Here's a photo of the brand I use.
