4-needle bundles on a native southern pine species?

I’ve got a pine that I’ve always thought to be loblolly, but I noticed today a lot of its recent candle growth is emerging in bundles of 4 needles. Have you heard of this happening?

On the pictured candle, I count 6-8 sets of 4 needles.

Loblolly can have bundles of 2, 3, or 4.
