Went to the good old HD and got myself a little boxwood for 50% off.

Cut the nursery pot down a bit and uncovered the nebari:
After a quick cut back of this year's growth to a node or three and cleaning out a bit of dead twigs and leaves, then hosing it off to get all the dirt out of the bark.
