Show us Your Airlayers

JM I removed a month or so back. Haven’t touched it as I’m wanting the roots to grow but so far it hasn’t dropped any branches or leaves so I think it’ll be a success

A few of my successes this year using those snap on plastic balls. OG Japanese maple, crab apple, and sangu kaku Japanese maple. Feeling triumphant since I had zero success last year with plastic wrap.

Speaking of airlayers, do any of you experts out there think its too late in the season to satrt some on some Japanese maples, here in Los Angeles, CA ?

Onother one - Montague daisy.
Probably not the best candidate as it is not woody enough.
I have a huge one and started a classic airlayer on one of the branches in the back under the deck in 2022. Checked it occasionally, but never seen roots. The branch did not die and I though it just bridged and forgot about it.
Today I was weeding under the deck and noticed the top of the branch died off. Went for a closer look and saw roots in the bag and a couple branches over the bag. Took it off and potted it.
Half of the stem is rotted, but one side is alive and has root.
It deserves to live just for its will to live...

Well, this one is doing great. Not sure where my brain is sometimes... it is a Capulet daisy, not Montague 😃
Montauk (Nipon) daisy.

Not sure how I haven't contributed to this particular thread yet, but why not now. Anyway...
This is a semi- dwarf A. palmatum that I planted as grafted 1 gal stock next to my deck in GA. This is from 3/17.

It eventually outgrew its spot, so...

Another landscape maple layer started about the same time as the one above... if you look closely, you can see where the die grinder girdled the bark.

Fast forward 6 years, including a 2 + year period of neglect planted essentially in the woods where it lost a trunk, then haphazardly dug and stuffed in a nursery can to move 600 miles north, followed by a few years of TLC back in ceramic bonsai pot...
