What type of pot should I put this tree in?

It seems to currently be styled as semi-cascade, so I would lean towards something with radial symmetry--a square, octagon or circle.

A couple months back I posted this on the Mirai forum and Ryan recommended I think about pushing it in a windswept direction. Would your pot choice change in this case?

probably not, as it’s still a semi-cascade, which do well in symmetric pots.

Nice ashe juniper! I’m curious if you have a good routine for collecting them? I dug 3 up last year but they all ended up dying.. it probably was mostly my fault for digging too late into spring..

They can be tricky honestly. I’ve lost a few good ones. Wind protection after collection is key. I would try to set up a misting system to mist 3-5 times per day to keep foliage moist but try to keep roots from getting to wet by covering with plastic or something.
