    Pomegranate

Couldn't repot the tree in spring 24 so it had one year to wait. Been a weird year as we had more hot periods during jan which caused the trees to start waking up early. Repotted as buds started opening up ... Found this huge 1 meter pot to fit it so went straight to a larger bonsai pot...

    Podocarpus fell

Thanks, Far from frost, we don't get freezing temperatures except may be 2-3 days in the most severe winters. Do t think we'll get close to 5 degrees Celsius before Dec jan and we most likely will get days with 20-25 celsius which is sunny days till then except few days of rain where temp drops...

    Podocarpus fell

Have this podocarpus that came styled since around 4 years, half barerooted and moved to bonsai soil 3 years back. Took 1 year to recover from initial repot. Last year it grew straight shoots some from low on the trunk and some from upper. Was supposed to cut those branches this fall and was...

    Podocarpus

Had this tree since around 4 years, moved to bonsai soil 3 years back. Left it to recover since then and many straight branches shot straight up from low in the tree to above tree height. It gets new growth early summer so thought I would leave leaves to harden and then prune and work.in styling...

    Boxwood styling

Option 2 Live branch is one on the right side of main trunk and feels it breaks the tree natural flow to take out the other branches and leave this one Option 3 Appreciate any advice on how to proceed and whether to take out the dead branches already or keep some.for deadwood. Any...

Twisting pomegranate air layer and style

Decided to repot vertical for now in a deep pot as that would allow for better stability and more soil coverage for further root development. Trunk was covered a bit too m7ch for.k9re stability, will correct this as roots grow more and tree self stabilizes. I realize more that the branches are...

Twisting pomegranate air layer and style

Tree was separated today and will be potting it in a large bonsai pot if going Raft style or else will pot into a round pot with some space for root growth and move next year to a bonsai pot. Here's the cut branch, the branches (if I go raft are too straight. I can reposition them but doubt I...

Twisting pomegranate air layer and style

Will be taking off this airlayer on a large twisting pomegranate tree which will be bonsaid as well next spring. For the airlayer it's basically a big branch I dodnt need on the main tree so not really a shape I can see for it. Its my first air layer so very happy I can see good roots in the bag...

Next step for this styled juniper

I actually still need to decide on what to go for I can either compress on right or left side and can drive the apex towards the compressed side or opposite as well to escape the current Christmas tree shape of the tree. More in favor of pushing tree to outside of the pot mire and compressing...

Next step for this styled juniper

My branches wiring skills aren't that good bur it'll be a good exercise I guess. I opted to delay full branch wiring as it'll need taking out a lot of foliage which I thought would be a bit risky at beginning of winter? I'll try wiring som and see if that clears up things more.

Next step for this styled juniper

Problem is the whole tree was beyond the pot which felt very unstable.
